About The Devon Clinic C.I.C.

The Devon Clinic is a local charity and C.I.C. that helps people who are struggling with mental health issues, including stress, anxiety and depression.
We support people with all kinds of mental health issues, from the Afghanistan veteran who was finding it hard to play with his children as every loud noise made him freeze in terror, to the young mum who lost her baby and has found it impossible to come to terms with the loss on her own.
As well as Therapies provided by Psychologists, Counsellors, Hypnotherapists and Wellbeing Practitioners, we also provide complementary treatments for wellbeing such as Acupuncture, Massage and Equine Therapy (just being near amazingly empathetic ponies works miracles!).

The results we have seen have been life-changing – not just for our clients but for their wider families too.
Sadly, like a lot of smaller charities, we struggle to raise sufficient funding to see everybody quickly.
With the suicide rate in Devon higher than the national average, and with the cost-of-living crisis affecting thousands of people in the county, we have more people needing our care than ever before.
We support survivors of domestic violence, but currently have almost 300 people on the waiting list to be seen, and it’s heart-breaking to think of the struggles they’re facing while they have to wait for months to receive any help.
Any money we were lucky enough to receive from grants or donations would make a huge difference to the people who have been brave enough to ask for help. We know that what we do saves lives and rebuilds families. We urgently need your help to do more.

"I highly recommend Chris Fleet, I went to see him, to help me lose weight and I have lost 2 stone (this has now gone to 3 stone since this testimonial was received) without going to the gym because Chris retrained my way of thinking about food. I felt comfortable with him and can’t wait to see him again for help with other things.”

Standing Tall Against Domestic Abuse in Torbay

– 16 Days of Action

In 2021 organisations and members of the general public made a stand against domestic abuse in Torbay.

Over 16 Days of Action the Bay’s partnership of local community groups and organisations Standing Tall raised awareness of the issue.

Chair of the Standing Tall Partnership Angie Manning said, “There are many organisations and residents across the Bay who wanted to make a stand against domestic abuse and sexual violence and they wanted to let people know that there was help and support available.

“This is the first time that so many of us have come together to get the message out to our communities. We toured a sofa in Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham with counsellors and members of the Standing Tall team. We launched an awareness raising video, projected local organisations logos and helpline numbers on the Church opposite Brixham Town Hall; held interviews with organisations that support victims of domestic abuse on Riviera FM and highlighted the link between domestic abuse and animal abuse during a brisk dog walk across the seafront.

“The video shows the range of organisations that are working alongside Torbay Council across our three towns.”

“The help and support that victims might want may come in many different forms. They may need help with legal advice, court appearances, practical help for themselves and their children, peer support or counselling and therapy. There is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to getting help.”

“Standing Tall aims to provide a range of services that understand domestic abuse and sexual violence and the impact this has on an individual and their family. We can help find the support people need”.
