Counsellor and Integrative Yoga Therapist

Whilst working as a Humanistic counsellor and senior mental health practitioner I have been able to use counselling successfully for many clients suffering from MH issues, trauma, and abuse.

Counselling is wonderful for helping one find the tools to manage ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, TRAUMA, PSYCHOLOGICAL and EMOTIONAL problems. SOMATICS FOR PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH

I discovered Somatics whilst trying to heal the back problem I was suffering, and it worked! The approach is very much a body, and mind connection and is extremely beneficial for managing anxieties, breathing difficulties, pain in the body, and trauma in body and mind. Throughout the practice, one is being mindful of how the body feels. Encouraging repetitive movements to allow the body to readjust and realign. During this repetitive and slow process, the brain makes new neural pathways opening new possibilities to movements and awakening sensations within the deep and tense muscles that may have been as if in sleep causing energy blockages internally. Trauma in the body affects the emotions and the mind and visa-versa. During a Somatic session, you will be taught how to release tension in the body and regulate emotional responses through breathing exercises, movement and relaxation.

My experience in the following areas:

  • Trauma
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Back pain
  • Breathing problems
  • Digestive problems
  • Postural adjustments and pain relief
  • Stress related skin problems
  • Small groups; Somatics for health and recovery.
